Our K9 Girls
Abby von Rottweiler & Bella Bambina
Abby's main interests are playing with everyone — be it humans, cats, or another dog. When Douglas rescued Abby from the animal shelter at 3-months of age, she'd already been dubbed "Harley". Imagine that! The shelter said she is a Rottweiler/Chow Chow mix. There is some debate as to whether that is true. She does have some dark spots on her tongue, so the Chow Chow part is probably correct. Abby's veterinarian wonders if she is largely Flat-Coated Retriever. As for the rest, who knows? Regardless, Abby is a sweet girl and loves everyone.
Bella came along December of 2005. She was 9 pounds at 6 weeks and a regular little spitfire. Her parents are Labrador Retrievers — Mom is chocolate and Dad is black. We'll never forget the full extent of her vocal cords the first few nights. Amazing. The red ball is Bella's favorite toy other than Abby. Fetching is a big part of her world. Bella thinks that Abby is her Mother and likes to pull and chew on Abby's tail and ears. Abby has taken on the role of the best surrogate Mother there could be, but Bella gives her the aggravation once in a while. So far there's been no chewed up socks or boots. Sincere thanks to Abby for "Bringing Up Bella."
